Chamber Inducts New Board of Directors for 2024

On Thursday, January 18, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce held its 2024 Board Installation at LiGreci’s Staaten.

New boards for the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation were installed, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to both boards.

Carol Decina, Corporate Affairs Manager, Borough of Staten Island for National Grid, has taken on the role of the Chamber’s 59th Chairperson, and fourth woman to hold the role.

“I am so excited to be coming into this position,” says Decina. “I’m ambitious about helping the Chamber as much as I can. In the time that I’ve been on the Board, which is about six to seven years, I’ve seen so many positive changes in the Chamber, and I can’t wait to help the organization grow even further.”

Decina has been with National Grid for over 30 years, executing various roles in her extensive career. In her time with National Grid, she has served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Human Resources Specialist, Principal Program Manager for Pipeline Safety Public Awareness, and currently Corporate Affairs Manager for the borough of Staten Island.

Following a two-year term as Chairman, Frank Scarangello (SCARAN) has assumed the role of Immediate Past Chair on the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Scarangello will now become Chairman of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board of Directors.

“It’s been a pleasure serving as Chairman the last two years,” emphasizes Scarangello. “The Chamber was able to help so many small businesses throughout the pandemic, and I couldn’t be prouder of the work they’ve accomplished in my time as Chairman.”

The Board of Directors were inducted for both the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce (SICC) and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation (SICCF) by the Honorable Philip S. Straniere, who served as a judge in the Civil Court of the City of New York between 1997 and 2017.
